Mars

Yesterday Mars killed and ate a whole pidgeon!. The day before he had apparently made himself ill with his (new) activites. He learnt this from Herbie.
Due to illness and another commitment I have had to cancel my Essex cycling trip from tomorrow unfortunately

FROM: jordan hamsonABIDJAN COTE D’IVOIREWEST AFRICAATTN: President Dear sir,
It is my pleasure to write you, pending on thisbusiness proposal. It may be strange to you of whom Iam and how I got your contact. However, I am Mr jordanHamson a citizen of republic of Sierra- Leone. Also I am the accountant general / treasurer of the thenrepublic of Sierra- Leone I am 39 years old of age and happily married. I got your contact through a reliable and a confident source with pleasant motives which Ishall reveal to you as soon as you are interested to know.As you must have heard about my country (Sierra-Leone) and the serious suffering for humanity and the national unrest killing and hostility in the hands ofthe rebels this event have caused much more death and destruction of properties in the country. As a matter of fact my people have become emergency refugees inother Africa countries. Consequently I am badly affected because the rebels needed my assistance and co-operation by releasing the national treasurydepartment to them which I Strictly refused their entry. Therefore out of my four children two was kidnapped including my father and they were eventually killed by the rebels. Further more, all my investments and other asst wereburst to pieces. Even my life and my wife and rest of my family are in danger. But it was not only me in the government facing this hard time, all top thegovernment official were also maltreated after all these, I patiently continued but I now see it necessary to quit Africa with my family since thetrouble never make any step of reconciliation and Africa continent is very unreliable now as there’s political and ethnic war in every part. Presently, I am taking refugee with my family in Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire under the United Nations refugeeumbrella. Unfortunately Côte d’Ivoire is Having political unrest and many equally burst to pieces soonest, so I am tired and sincerely need your supportand assurance to invest wisely and relocate to your country through your productive ideas and qualities. I have $18.5 million US dollar to be invested in yourcountry though your support and this existing amountis right safe and presently not in SIERRA LEONE butlodge in the custody of a security and finance companysome where around west Africa region which I maydisclosed to you as soon as I receive yourcomplacence.
I would be contented to have your private contact forsecurity reasons and I am very optimistic to release areasonable percentage of this amount to you for yourassistance.I anticipate your speedy response remain. Please kindly contact me immediately you receive thismessage through my telephone number or my electronicbox .Yours sincerely.jordan Hamson

Confused Mars

In this drawing of beloved Mars he is looking on confused as Herbie catches a mouse. This is the RHS of the picture. Note his bent whiskers. He has a lovely loud "purr".
He went missing 2 days ago but turned up for a very late breakfast at 3PM. Much relieved. Got him 3 years ago but him & Herbie don't get on. Mars is a "rescue" cat. The lovely pet had had just been left at a Cornish holiday camp and left to fend for himself. Apparently he did not make a very good job of it and at first he wouldn't harm an earwig. In fact he would jump when they moved. He was used to eating fish and chips and sandwiches. Now he has progressed from biting the tail of slow worms to black birds and now I understand a wood pidgeon surcumbed to his hunting skills.
And lets not mention that "rare bird" you got at Pound Dean!

Herbie Picture

"happiness is Herbie and a mouse.............from mars!"
Herbie belonged to nutty night but nuts thretened to have him put down so I took him. Your loss nuts. He is better than a hot water bottle and more loyal than a girlfriend. He was also a rescue cat- born under the floor boards. About the same age as Mars. Completely different personality.

Tuesday in Cornwall

Slight rain here.

Pleased as Mars the cat returned yesterday after worrying reports of him up a tree with branches breaking off quite away from where he lives, also that he was in a cat fight at 3AM and had things thrown at him. And a dog was after something in the bushes. I had walked around for ages calling him.

I vowed not to go to bed until I found him but he jumped in through the kitchen window wanting a (very) late breakfast.

Cycling Idea

Tall Bikes

Yesterday I joined the Tall Bikes on their SE Cornwall stint and I rode with them from East Downderry near Tor Point to the Eden Project at St Austell via Seaton (Cornwall), Looe, across top of Polperro, Polruan, Fowey, (via Ferry), Par and St Blazey. I haven't been to Fowey since my holiday there in 1995 before I moved here. It was a good day and saw places I must spend time in.

This is the area we covered:-

Afterwards I went To Holmbush Tesco and after cafe & getting a load of provisions I intended getting train back...........................Except I didnt. I am feeling rather pleased with myself as I cycled back instead.

This is their website :-http://www.tallbiketourbritain.com/page7.htm

This morning I went out running but only as long as Bowie "Rebel Rebel" & the Whos "5:15" played on my mobile.

Me in black and white, my animals and house etc.

Liskeard from Station road, looking North to Callington. Liskeard is small.
"Drake". The Love bird. His mate died after a series of fits last summer but she was never very good to him and he seems to have 'fallen in love' with the budgie in the next cage.
Over the back of the house are some lovely woods which Mars & Herbie enjoy.
Mars the cat thinks that anything jet black like him is really cool, whether its an old jumper, another black cat or an old piece of carpet in the sun, the 'black bruvver hood' reigns supreme. He is a lovely cat who was dumped on a holiday park and spent the summer on chips and cheese sandwiches as he was too timid to kill. He was originally called "Melvin'. Not a suitable name for a cat!. So I renamed him after the red planet which was prominent at the time. Here Mars is enjoying the sun.
Picture round friend Marions with Mars in foreground

My House

My house with Car, Cycle and its trailer outside.

My back garden, Herbie etc

That face!. Sometimes I think Herbie actually smiles!

This is my back garden. Rather messy at present with pots everywhere and the Xmas tree just shuvved in place. But I was going to move....and then I am not.

Intruder Alert!

This little fellow was found in my kitchen/diner and he had knocked every single plant off the window ledges as he had got in the cat flap and obviously panicked. He got a long cuddle, much to my cat herb's annoiance and a few pictures taken.

More Pictures

Got some pictures to download from digital camera but on this computer I cannot seem to download to Blog but have sent in emails.

Went to communion this morning for 3rd week running which was good.
